November - Experimental Clay

Learn to sculpt by hand and on the computer with this experimental clay class! Combine art and technology to create unique ceramic objects! Students will learn to use the laser to create slump molds and to add unique patterns to their clay vessels. Students will also use CAD modeling and 3D printing to create their own press molds which will be used to explore basic ceramic handbuilding skills. If you have ever wanted to use both technology AND your hands, this is the class for you! By the end of the class, students will be certified to use the lasers and the 3D printers at the Hub. Experience with vector based software is recommended but not required.
